Sapa, Vietnam

5.5 hours North of Hanoi is the countryside town of Sapa. Just 30 minutes south of China there was a definite change in temperature and I was so glad that I had bought an extra fleece so that I could wear both at the same time.

When we arrived it was midday and the fog was so thick that our mountain facing view room had no view. The hostel was freezing – actually colder than outside which meant that I had to sleep fully clothed!

We wandered around Sapa Town but there isn’t that much there apart from rice fields. Pretty frozen several of us bought a scarf – ACNE studios scarf RRP £1000 for £3.33 somehow I think it may be a fake…

Thankfully our second day was much warmer as we trekked to the local village of Cat Cat to see the traditional hill tribe life. It’s been so nice to get out of the crazy busy city but we have all been so poorly so energy levels are so low!

Our overnight bus was supposed to get into Hanoi at 4.30am but somehow we got back at 2am which meant we actually got to go to bed before work this morning, however it was a struggle!
